Digging with an iron bar and shovel .. hauling a mixture of stone and sand to the surface using a bucket, rope and pulley .. continued steadily over the next few days at around 2 metres per day. Here
Abli 'Zimba' is having a rest whilst Makka 'Well' is hauling up stone from Forfar ....

......... who eventually emerged, smiling and covered in sweat and sand, after over an hour of heavy digging deep below the surface .. happily singing to himself whilst puffing on a cigarette !

However at around 12 metres progress slowed a little as they had to dig through a solid layer of laterite stone .. breaking up and hauling lumps weighing in excess of 10 kg to the surface
